Regeneration of damaged sciatic nerve and effects of pulsed magnet therapy

The research team restored the nerve conduction by grafting chitosan and then assessed the effect of pulsed magnetic therapy with a frequency of 2 Hz and a power of 0.3 mT (one hour per day, 5 days for 4 weeks) on nerve restoration.

Behavioral, functional, electrophysiological and biomechanical parameters and morphometric analyses confirmed the fastest nerve fiber regeneration in the group in which pulsed magnetic therapy was combined with chitosan grafting.

Thus, according to the results of the study, this combination is considered to be an effective, safe and appropriate treatment for peripheral nerves in clinical practice.
