A condition where a nerve is dissected during a trauma or is bruised or damaged by too much pressure.

The most common injury to the nerve is by an incision, by which the nerve may be either partially or completely dissected. The other ways of damaging the nerve are a result of bruising or compression by bones or a clot during trauma.
