Contraindications

Pulsed magnetic therapy is a very safe treatment and rehabilitation method. Nonetheless, there are some contraindications of this method. Acquianting oneself to the guidelines of safe operation of the devices and applicators is essential.

Contraindications of Magnetic Therapy

Devices and applicators of Biomag pulsed magnetic therapy must not be used with the contraindications listed below. Not respecting these contraindications can cause damage to the health of both the patient and the operator!

  • Pregnancy
  • Pacemaker
  • Bleeding conditions
  • Menstrual periods (bleeding phase)
  • Neoplasms
  • Serious septic states
  • Fever
  • Active tuberculosis
  • Mycosis at the site of the application
  • Paroxysmal nerve diseases
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Adrenal hyperfunction
  • Myasthenia gravis
  • Hypothalamus and pituitary gland diseases
  • Psychosis
  • Pain of unknown origin
  • Unspecified diagnosis
  • Contraindications to a medical procedure determined by a specialist

 

If your own the AL16-LUM applicator with polarised light there are further contraindications:

  • Directly shining into one’s eyes (while applying polarised light)
  • With metabolic disorders with skin photosenzitation or while using photostimulating preparations (applicable when applying polarised light)

 

Side effects:

Patients suffering from low blood pressure (or are prone to it) or high blood pressure particularly need to be observed during application. Individual effects and use of magnetic therapy must be judged based on the particular condition and reactions of individual patients.

In case of an unexpected reaction, cease the application immediately! Continued application may resume on the recommendation of the attending physician’s procedure plan.
